When I first saw this title I thought to myself "My God - those bushfires must have got REALLY close!"

Oh Gwen, I totally sympathise with you - I LOATHE the smell of cigarette smoke - especially when it's stale and when I've been in a smoking atmosphere, it takes ages for the smell of smoke to leave my clothes.

I agree with the others - If your weather is good enough - you could try leaving the bed outside, with the mattress propped up on its side, to get good fresh air to it. I have to say though, judging by the following link - How to get rid of cigarette smoke I'd say that you may well never get rid of the smell, and you might be better off just getting rid of the bed itself. A shame, but it could be more practical to cut your losses.

Another useful tip - for those of you who have got water stains on your precious wooden furniture, I can recommend a mixture of mayonnaise and ordinary white toothpaste. Rub it gently over the stain for a few minutes and then leave. Rub off and repeat, using a soft cloth both times. Then buff off and repolish.
