OOOh!! Childhood memory alert!!

I remember visiting some Rotorua mudpools as a child, and I must have been standing too close becaused one of the bubbly bits splashed a little splop of mud that landed on the top of my foot. It hurt!! I even remember I was wearing red roman sandals (now, there's something that has no place in the "beautiful things" thread!).
Because of the sulphurous smell, my sister always used to refer to the thermal wonders of Rotorua as "the stinky-stonks".
