Passover is the Jewish holiday which commemorates and dates back to their bondage in Egypt. God promised the Israelites that he would lead them out of slavery and into the promised land.

He sent seven plagues upon Egypt, the last of these plagues was the angel of death. God said that he would take the first born of every family in the night, and he instructed his people to kill the most perfect lamb of their flock and smear its blood above their door, that the angel of death would know not to enter there.

The lamb's blood is symbolic of Christ's death on the cross. He is called "the Lamb of God," for he is most perfect - without blemish and without sin, and acts as our sacrifice, that we should not die.

If there is to be any discussion of Easter, which I greatly encourage, I ask that it be treated with seriousness and respect. To Christians it is most precious, for it defines our faith.
