As the last session was a shorty and this one will run through the 21st of this month, I think a more expansive word-count is in order.
SSIW has always emphasized conciseness, so these limits may seem overly generous, but a little stretching now and then can be good exercise.
Thanks to Saffron Piskie and Inner Prop, we have two new intriguing subjects to sink our teeth into, so this session's parameters are:
WORDCOUNT
Prose: 1500
Poetry: 300
SUBJECTS
Play
Football (American, Canadian, Rugby (Union or league), celtic, Australian rules, association (soccer) or some alien or fantasy version you invent)
OPTIONAL CHALLENGES
a) Pick a historical figure, or a literary character and write in first person POV, as if you are them. Maybe put a note at the end so we can see whom you wrote about.
b) Use both subjects in a comedy set on/in another world.
DEADLINES
Submissions: September 21st
Voting: September 23rd
Happy writing.
